The Stock Market Votes On Electric Car Future
The hype surrounding financial decisions is just that. Only the market can vote on the future of a company and it is now voting on the future of the electric car with Tesla Motors.
Tesla Motors is both a wild success and total failure. The company has put together all electric cars that are simply amazing. And we are not talking about just any car here. These are sports cars that look like something from Italy and haul butt just as quickly. They are truly impressive.
Unfortunately, Tesla is one of those companies that is way ahead of its time. It company has produced an incredible car with a second model about to come out, but it is losing money hand over foot. Overall, it is upside down about $200 million with many more losses expected. The investors are nearly broke, so the company has decided to make one big play for the future. It has launched an initial public offering in an effort to raise capital.
An IPO often represents the view of the financial markets regarding the future of a company. This is particularly true with Tesla. Is the future bright or dim? One will only really know when people slap down their hard earned money on the stock shares being offered. Well, the Tesla IPO came out at $17. The current trading price for the stock is at $23. In short, more people are buying than selling, which is driving the stock price up.
