Honda 2 Seat CR-Z Hybrid To Be Cheapest Hybrid on Market
Honda has a long history with hybrids and is bringing a new variation – a cheap one! The CR-Z hybrid is a 2 seater that will be on the market this coming August.Imagine a hybrid and what images come to mind when performance is mentioned? It is probably pretty weak unless money is no object and we talk about the Tesla or something of that sort. Well, Honda is aiming to change that. The CR-Z is a fast, maneuverable two seater that was first launched in Japan and is now being brought to market here.
The truth of the matter is the CR-Z almost never happened. It was a complete surprise to the auto industry that the car not only was supported in Japan by the public, but actually became a huge hit. The lights went on at Honda and a model for the US was put into action. In fact, the car was such a hit that now Toyota is considering launching two hybrid sports cars as well, but I digress.
The real beauty of the Honda CR-Z is the performance for price ration. The performance is sporty, but the real secret is this is Honda is launching it at a seriously dirt cheap price. How cheap? Let’s try $19,950 as the base price. Oh, and the base price includes a…manual six speed transmission. Yes, a hybrid with a manual transmission! This car is going to be a huge hit.

Hybrids have long been associated with great gas mileage, not so great performance and often ridiculously high sales prices. The CR-Z looks to maintain the good gas mileage [37/34] while flipping the rest of the equation on its head. Pretty sweet, no?
